Take Virginia Beach expressway I-264
Take exit 16 toward Witchduck Road / Princess Anne Road
Turn left onto Witchduck Road

Take a right out of the parking lot onto Princess Anne Road toward Kempsville and Witchduck Roads.
Go down 2 lights/ 1.4 miles and make a left onto Kempsville Road.
Go 0.3 miles and Turn left at the light onto Chief Trail- Kempsville High school
5194 Chief Trail.

*Please pack ONE bag of clothes, etc. In addition, you'll want to pack a bag for the bus which might include snacks, homework, books, mp3 players, games, deodorant, makeup, band uniform clothes, band shirt, gloves, and band shoes. Students should consider the weather in packing and may wish to include a towel.

From Norfolk/Portsmouth:
Merge onto I-264 E ramp towards Virginia Beach.
Take the I-64 E/Military Hwy/US-13/Newtown Rd exit (exit 13-14) towards Chesapeake.
Merge onto I-64 E.
Take the INDIAN RIVER RD EAST exit (exit 286B).
Merge onto INDIAN RIVER RD/VA-407 S.
Turn LEFT onto KEMPSVILLE RD.
At the third stop light turn RIGHT onto CHIEF TRAIL.

September 21-26 Schedule
Congratulations to the Glass Band for Placing 2nd overall in class at the USSBA William Byrd Competition on September 19. The band placed FIRST in Overall Effect. Overall, a great first time out for the Glass Band!
Monday, Sept 21: practice 6-8:30
Wednesday, Sept 23: practice afterschool until 5:30
Friday, Sept 25: practice afterschool + Game!
Saturday, Sept 26: Competition at George Washington HS, Danville, Virginia

11:00 Practice at ECG (eat a good breakfast before coming)

Uniform Check-out (leave in uni bags…we will change there)

Lunch/Dinner Stop on the way (fast food, bring your own $$)
4:45 Arrival in Danville
5:00 Dress/Restrooms
5:45 Warm-up

Following the performance, Return instruments/equipment to truck/buses
Change out of uniform.
Concessions stop on the way back to stands (bring $$)
7:45 Sit Together in stands and watch remaining groups.
10pm Awards
12am Return to ECG
There will be first, second, and third place awards in each class. In addition, there will be first and second place awards in each class for all specialty areas (drum majors, percussion, and colorguard.) Each class champion will receive a check for $100.00. The Grand Champion Award will be given to the Band with the highest score regardless of class. In addition, there will be an award given to the best "Pit Crew" for the day so tell your workers (parents, boosters, etc.) to brush up on their set-up times!
DIRECTIONS From Lynchburg: Take 29 South through Chatham towards Danville. Take the exit to the right for Danville (29 business). Do not continue on the bypass! Follow 29 business all the way through town to the Danville City limits (Approx. 8 miles). Continue through the city until you see Piedmont Mall sitting on the hill to your right (do not exit for the mall, though!). Continue for approx. one (1) mile to the next stoplight. Turn right onto Broad Street. This is the Campus of G.W.
Pro Video will be on site taping every band. Order your DVD and take it home with you. Mail in your form, email us, or bring this form with you to the competition. Good Luck to all the bands.
